Casual Cook – Aged Care, Wellington

Are you an accomplished home cook looking to pick up casual work as and when required?

We are on the lookout for a passionate Cook who would enjoy the opportunity to share their culinary skills with the 150 residents at Te Hopai Home and Hospital, located in Newtown, Wellington.

This position does not require a qualified chef as you will be working as part of a team and to a set menu. It would suit someone with knowledge and experience in preparing, cooking, and plating wholesome food in a home or community setting. You must enjoy making traditional meals and baking, and have a desire to make our client and their residents’ smile!

To be successful you will need to:
- Be friendly and engaging and enjoy making the day of residents by serving amazing meals.
- Have an understanding of dietary requirements, allergies, and food control regulations.
- Be an exceptional team player with a flexible and committed attitude.
- Have good time management skills.
- Be able to work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays.
- Be comfortable taking responsibility and able to work sole charge when necessary.

We require a reliable and hardworking individual that shares our passion for food and excellent service, and prides themselves on producing consistently delicious and wholesome meals time and time again.

This is a casual position working as and when required to cover leave, and would require someone available to work shifts 5.30am – 2pm and 10am – 6.30pm over a 7 day roster.
