Refining Shutdown

Refining Shutdown

Three weeks into a six week shutdown at Marsden Point Refinery and the team at Cater Plus are hard at work feeding the 1200 workers and contractors on-site. The $85 million dollar project to complete maintenance and capital project work is the first time the plant has been entirely shutdown in over 14 years, and the extra 700+ contractors on-site is a major boost to the Northland economy.

Opening for 24 hours a day, 7 days per week is no easy feat, and the team at Café North are taking it in their stride producing a large variety of tantalizing food to fuel the team at Refining NZ.

Led by Operations Manager Neil Dowie, the team of talented chefs and baristas are producing over 300kgs of fried chicken, 600kg of fries and using 30kgs of coffee beans each week. Add this to the range of hot meals, the hundreds of scones and muffins, the array of gourmet salads and sandwiches and our home-made sweets and slices sold daily and Cater Plus have found the recipe for success.
With the hive of activity on-site, the Cater Plus team are in their element showcasing their Passion for Food and Excellence in Service. A dedicated food truck and coffee carts located around the Refinery provide easy access to food and beverages and adds an extra dimension to the foodservice offerings.
Well done to the Cater Plus team and thank you for all your effort during the shutdown!
