Barista - Ara Institute of Canterbury, Christchurch

• Monday to Friday, 7am to 2.30pm in peak times
• 25 to 35 hours a week. – Permanent (Educational Terms Only – student holidays off!)

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at Coffee Infusion Café, located on the bustling Ara Institute of Canterbury Madras Campus in Christchurch.

What You'll Be Doing
• Crafting consistently excellent barista-made coffee
• Preparing and serving fresh, delicious café-style food
• Delivering outstanding customer service with a friendly, positive attitude
• Operating POS and EFTPOS systems efficiently and accurately
• Assisting with food preparation and cabinet presentation
• Supporting daily café operations, including cleaning and dishwashing
• Working as part of a close-knit team to create an exceptional customer experience

What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll:
• Have previous experience in a busy café environment
• Be confident producing high-quality espresso coffee
• Enjoy engaging with customers and building rapport
• Have excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Be reliable, motivated, and able to perform well under pressure
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Be a strong team player who is willing to help wherever needed
