Casual Catering Assistant - Operations Support, Northland Region

Casual (Available over 7 days. Weekdays and weekends).

With 4 kitchens and 2 cafes within the Northland region, we have a rare opportunity for a passionate, adaptable, and flexible, hands-on Catering assistant who enjoys the variety of working across all these sites.

With various size aged care kitchens, an industrial cafeteria and public Cafe, this role will keep you on your toes! Ranging in cooking styles, service times and quantities your week can change from filing cabinets at our café, help catering for a function, or providing good wholesome meals for residents. This is a casual position to cover team members when on leave or training days.

You will need to be adaptable and flexible, able to juggle multiple tasks at the same time, and thrive working across a range of settings. The challenge of this role is that no two days are the same – one day you are serving in one of our busy cafes, the next day you are working as part of a team preparing and serving food for a large resthome (and everything in between). This means you will be a good all-round catering assistant.

To be successful we are looking for an honest and responsible person who can:
• serve beautifully crafted café style food to customers,
• operate Eftpos and POS machine with a smile,
• assist with food preparation and cleaning,
• understand a basic level of computer literacy,
• work hard as a reliable and loyal team player who can stay cool under pressure,
• utilise great communication skills and a can-do attitude,
• enjoy working with customers and keep them coming back for more.

The ideal candidate will:
• Demonstrate great communication skills and a flexible, can do committed attitude
• Be friendly and engaging with a desire to be a productive and positive member of the team
• Be passionate about good food and great service
• Have excellent time management skills and moderate computer literacy.
