Casual Chef – Operations Support, Northland Region
Casual (Available over 7 days. Weekdays and weekends).

With multiple kitchens and sites across the Northland region, we have a great opportunity for a passionate, adaptable, and hands-on Chef who enjoys working across a variety of locations and service styles.
This is a casual position supporting our Northland operations team, providing cover for long-term ACC leave and staff illness. No set hours are guaranteed, with shifts offered as required across the region.
From preparing meals in aged care kitchens to supporting busy service periods and stepping into different teams, no two days will be the same. This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible Chef who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys making an impact wherever they go.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals
* Supporting the delivery of consistent, nutritious, and appealing food
* Working collaboratively with kitchen teams to ensure smooth daily operations
* Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety
* Assisting with menu preparation and meal service
* Ensuring stock rotation and efficient kitchen systems
* Maintaining kitchen equipment and cleanliness
* Supporting Site Managers and stepping up when required
You will need to be adaptable and flexible, able to work across different kitchens, and confident managing a variety of service styles and volumes.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have previous experience in a commercial kitchen
* Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
* Have a strong focus on quality, consistency, and service
* Demonstrate reliability and good time management
* Have experience in high-volume or institutional catering (advantageous)
As travel across sites is required, you will need a valid driver licence and access to a vehicle.
