Catering Assistant – Aged Care, Christchurch

• Tuesday: 3.00pm – 8.00pm
• Location: Archer Rest Home, Beckenham, Christchurch

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team at Archer Rest Home. In this rewarding role, you'll help provide nutritious meals and exceptional service to the residents who call Archer home, making a genuine difference to their day.

What You'll Be Doing
• Assisting with food preparation and meal service
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
• Washing dishes and supporting general kitchen operations
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Safely handling commercial kitchen equipment, hot trays, and large pots
• Supporting the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
• Has a positive attitude and enjoys working with people
• Is reliable, punctual, and willing to pitch in where needed
• Works well as part of a team and can also work independently
• Can follow instructions and remain efficient in a busy environment
• Has good time management and organisational skills
• Understands, or is willing to learn, New Zealand food safety requirements
• Demonstrates respect, care, and compassion when working in an aged care setting
• Previous kitchen or catering experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
