Catering Assistant - (ANDC) Countdown, Wiri

• (Monday – Friday 2.00pm-8:30pm) 30 hours per week.

Located in the Countdown Wiri Distribution Centre is the Cater Plus café. This is a sole charge position taking responsibility for the café once the Site Manager has finished for the day. During your shift you will be preparing sandwiches, serving the customers, reheating the lunch meal options, and keeping the café clean. You will also hold the responsibly for cashing and locking up, making sure the café is ready for the next day. This is a great opportunity to make your mark with a step up of extra responsibilities.

What you’ll do:
• Take responsibility for the day-to-as operation and presentation of the café and kitchen areas.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including taking orders and operating the till.
• Prepare sandwiches, filled rolls, salads, cabinet food, and other café items to the required quality and presentation standards.
• Complete food preparation for the following day, ensuring items are correctly labelled, dated, covered, and stored.
• Reheat and serve food safely, following the approved procedures and portion requirements.
• Accurately complete all required food-safety records, including cooking, reheating, hot-holding, cooling, and fridge/freezer temperature checks.
• Maintain well-stocked, clean, and attractively presented food and beverage displays throughout service.
• Complete end-of-day cash-ups accurately and report any discrepancies to the Site Manager.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate products using FIFO, and advise the Site Manager of any shortages or ordering requirements.
• Wash dishes, remove rubbish, and maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free café and kitchen.
• Follow all food-safety, allergen, health and safety, and company procedures.
