Cater Plus is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer focused Catering Assistant / Barista to join our café team at Piki Ki Te Ao, Ōtāhuhu Police Station. This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave, offering consistent weekday hours in a professional and secure environment.

About the role
In this role, you will support the day to day operation of the café, preparing and serving food and beverages and providing welcoming, efficient service to Police staff and visitors.
You’ll work closely with the site team to ensure the café runs smoothly each morning and maintains high standards of food safety, presentation, and cleanliness.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and serving café style food and beverages
• Making and serving quality coffee (barista experience an advantage)
• Providing friendly and professional customer service
• Operating EFTPOS and POS systems
• Supporting daily café and kitchen operations
• Assisting with food preparation and service for meetings and functions when required
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well organised café and kitchen environment
• Following Cater Plus Food Control Plan and food safety requirements at all times
The ideal Candidate will:
• Have experience as a Catering Assistant and/or Barista
• Enjoy working in a busy café or catering environment
• Be reliable, punctual, and well organised
• Have a positive, friendly, and customer focused attitude
• Be comfortable working early morning shifts
• Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Have a practical understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
