Catering Assistant / Cleaner - Kimihia Home & Hospital, Huntly

Kimihia Home & Hospital is proudly located in the heart of Huntly East, just off Great South Road. Nestled in a peaceful residential area, our home is only a short walk from the beautiful Lake Hakanoa Park, offering a tranquil setting for residents, staff, and visitors alike.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and positive Catering Assistant / Cleaner to join our team. This is a varied role that combines catering support with cleaning duties, helping us maintain a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for our residents.

Hours of Work:
32 hours per week across a 7-day roster
• Monday: 5:30am - 2:00pm (Cleaning)
• Wednesday: 7:30am - 4:00pm (Kitchen Catering Assistant & Cleaning)
• Friday: 5:30am - 2:00pm (Cleaning)
• Sunday: 11:30am - 8:00pm (Kitchen Catering Assistant)

About the Role
Catering Assistant Duties
• Assist with the preparation of food and beverages.
• Serve meals and refreshments in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ensure food is presented and served to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, dining, and service areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stock control, deliveries, and restocking supplies.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, allergen, and health and safety requirements.
• Support the catering team during busy periods and special events.
• Report any hazards, equipment issues, or customer feedback to management.
• Help minimise waste and follow company procedures.

Cleaning Duties
• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchens, and communal areas.
• Carry out vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and rubbish removal.
• Follow cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Complete cleaning records and documentation as required.
• Undertake deep cleaning and additional cleaning tasks when needed.
• Work respectfully around residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Report maintenance issues, faults, or hazards promptly.
