Catering Assistant, Matamata
Permanent Part time: 16 hours per week as set out in a weekly roster.
We are on the lookout for a passionate kitchen staff member who is eager to showcase their culinary skills and provide exceptional customer service to the 25 residents plus meals on wheels recipients at our facility in Matamata.
We have an opportunity available to cover Catering Assistant PM shifts as and when required to fill gaps in the roster and cover leave, so we are looking for motivated individuals who are flexible to work across the various shifts of a 7-day roster.
What you’ll do:
• Ensure the kitchen is safe and hazard free by doing dishes, removing rubbish, and cleaning.
• Compile meal trays, deliver to patient rooms, and clear at end of service.
• Top up supplies and generally help to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Be friendly and engaging and enjoy making the day of residents by serving amazing meals.
• Have an understanding of dietary requirements, allergies, and food control regulations.
• Be able to work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays.
Who You Are:
• Show attention to detail, have good time management skills and the ability to take instruction and initiative.
• An exceptional team player with a flexible, committed, can-do attitude.
• Have excellent communications skills as patient interaction is necessary in this role.
• Friendly and engaging and know what it means to deliver outstanding customer service.
Previous kitchen experience is not required as training will be provided to someone who possesses the right attitude and motivation.
