Catering Assistant - Rangiura Rest Home, Putāruru

• 24 hours per week across a 7-day roster, with shifts from 2.30pm to 9.00pm.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team at Rangiura Rest Home in Putāruru, where we provide meals for approximately 70 residents each day.

About the Role:
As a Catering Assistant, you will:
• Support our chefs with food preparation and baking.
• Set up dining areas, trolleys, and meal service.
• Assist with serving meals to residents.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Wash dishes and assist with kitchen clean-down.
• Provide service in the onsite café when required.
• Work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Assist with meal service to residents, including room service when required.
• Help close and clean the kitchen at the end of the day.

About You:
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a positive, friendly, and can-do attitude.
• Be a strong team player who is reliable and flexible.
• Be comfortable working in a busy environment.
• Be able to work independently during evening close-down duties.
• Have good communication and customer service skills.
• Be committed to providing excellent service to residents and visitors.
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right person.
