Catering Assistant – Resthaven Rest Home & Café, Cambridge

Wednesday & Sunday | 10:30am – 7:00pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team at Cambridge Resthaven. Our kitchen at Resthaven on Vogel provides nutritious, high-quality meals for 135 residents across two sites, supporting a full range of aged-care services, including a dedicated dementia unit.

About the Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure our residents and café customers receive excellent food and service while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting with food preparation and meal service
• Supporting café operations and customer service
• Washing dishes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Removing rubbish and ensuring a safe, hazard-free workplace
• Restocking supplies and assisting with kitchen organisation
• Helping with service setup, clearing, and cleaning at the end of shifts
• Supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations

About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
• Have previous café, hospitality, or food service experience
• Have basic cooking skills or kitchen experience (full training provided)
• Be friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be reliable, flexible, and willing to help where needed
• Take pride in delivering great service and working as part of a team
• Enjoy working in an environment where you can positively impact the lives of others
