Catering Assistant - Wakefield Hospital, Wellington

Position 1: Monday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (8 hours)
Position 2: Wednesday - Saturday, 2:00pm - 8:00pm (22 hours)

To make this happen, we need Catering Assistants who are passionate about excellent service to support our chefs in the kitchen.

What You'll Be Doing
• Assisting with food preparation and meal service
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
• Washing dishes and supporting general kitchen operations
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Safely handling commercial kitchen equipment, hot trays, and large pots
• Supporting the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
• Has a positive attitude and enjoys working with people
• Is reliable, punctual, and willing to pitch in where needed
• Works well as part of a team and can also work independently
• Can follow instructions and remain efficient in a busy environment
• Has good time management and organisational skills
• Understands, or is willing to learn, New Zealand food safety requirements
• Demonstrates respect, care, and compassion when working in an aged care setting
• Previous kitchen or catering experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
