Chef- Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital, Auckland

Experienced Chef for Large Aged Care Kitchen
40 hours per week -Wednesday to Sunday( 9.30am – 6pm)

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Chef with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or a relevant qualification either in culinary arts or professional cookery with 1-2 years relevant experience to join our team at Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital, located in Epsom, Auckland. This is one of our largest rest home kitchens catering for up to 260 residents on a daily basis.

What you’ll do:
- Prepare, cook, and serve wholesome food to a set menu
- You must enjoy bulk cooking, making traditional meals and baking
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Adapt menus to cater for varied dietary requirements
- Advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures and techniques
- Demonstrate understanding of, and ability to implement New Zealand Food Control and safety regulations
- Operate at a level that can take responsibility as sole chef on duty when required
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.
