Chef – Hamilton Boys’ High School Boarding, Hamilton
• Permanent part-time position 17.5 hours per week
• Sunday: 9:00am - 7:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
• Monday: 10:30am - 7:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
We're looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and experienced Chef to join our catering team at Hamilton Boys’ High School, supporting the daily food service for our boarding students.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured environment and takes pride in preparing hearty, nutritious meals for young people.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals for boarding students
• Support the delivery of consistent, nutritious, and appealing food
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety
• Assist with menu preparation and meal service
• Ensure stock rotation and efficient kitchen systems
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness
• Support the Site Manager and step up when required
• Deliver food and catering items for school functions and events as required
What you'll bring:
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
• A positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong focus on quality, consistency, and service
• Reliability and good time management skills
• Experience in high-volume or institutional catering (advantageous)
• A full New Zealand driver's licence (essential), as the role requires delivery of food and catering items for functions when needed
