- Minimum 30 hours per week
- 4 days on 2 days off – first 2 days 9:30am to 5:00pm, second 2 days 5:30am to 2:00pm

Cater Plus is the proud service provider for a 100-bed aged residential care home in Putaruru.

We are currently seeking an experienced chef. Reporting to the Chef manager, you will be experienced in the cooking and service of all meals and making our client and their residents smile!

To be successful in this position you will need to be able to:
- Prepare, cook, and serve wholesome food (including soft meals)
- Have a culinary flare for savory and sweet dishes as well as baking
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Adapt menus to cater for varied dietary requirements
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
- Advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures and techniques
- Demonstrate understanding of, and ability to implement New Zealand Food Control & safety regulations
- Keep to a food budget
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard-free environment.

The ideal candidate will:
- be able to work to timeframes and be flexible to work weekends
- Can think on their feet
- Have excellent culinary and baking skills
- Be friendly and engaging, with a desire to be a productive and positive member of the team
- Be passionate about great service, good food, how it tastes and its presentation
- Have good time management skills, excellent communication, and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude
