Cook / Catering Assistant – Matamata

Permanent Position | 40 Hours per Week

We're looking for a motivated Cook/Catering Assistant to join our team in Matamata, helping provide nutritious, home-style meals and exceptional service to our 25 residents and Meals on Wheels recipients.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a supportive team that takes pride in delivering quality food and creating positive dining experiences for our residents every day.

What You'll Be Doing
• Preparing, cooking, and serving wholesome, nutritious meals
• Assisting with menu preparation and accommodating special dietary requirements
• Monitoring food quality throughout preparation and service
• Ensuring food safety standards and regulations are consistently met
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
• Supporting kitchen operations and stepping up as the sole cook on duty when required
• Working alongside a dedicated team to deliver outstanding service to residents

About You
We're looking for someone who:
• Has previous kitchen or cooking experience
• Enjoys preparing quality food and takes pride in their work
• Understands dietary requirements, allergens, and food safety practices
• Has a positive, friendly, and engaging personality
• Enjoys interacting with residents and contributing to their wellbeing
• Is a reliable team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
• Has excellent time management and organisational skills
• Can work confidently and safely in a commercial kitchen environment
• Is willing to work across a 7-day roster as required
