Cook / Catering Assistant – Woolworths PNRDC, Palmerston North

Permanent – 29 hours per week.
• Monday & Tuesday: 1:30pm – 8:30pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 5:30am – 1:00pm

Cater Plus partners with Woolworths to deliver high quality food services in a fast paced retail environment. We are currently looking for a Cook / Experienced Catering Assistant to join our kitchen team at Woolworths PNDC.

Based at a Woolworths Palmerston North, this role is sole charge and involves supporting daily food preparation and cooking requirements while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

This is a permanent role with a consistent roster, ideal for someone who enjoys structured hours and working in a commercial kitchen setting.

Key responsibilities include:
• Assisting with cooking and food preparation to Woolworths standards
• Supporting daily production requirements in a commercial kitchen
• Preparing, handling, and storing food safely
• Plating, packing, and presenting food to specification
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
• Completing dishes and general kitchen duties
• Following all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures

To be successful in this role you will:
• Have previous experience as a Cook or experienced Catering Assistant
• Be comfortable working in a fast paced commercial kitchen environment
• Have a practical understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Be reliable, organised, and able to work set rosters
• Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Take pride in producing consistent, high quality food
