Dual Weekend Cook and Cook Assistant – Aged Care, Paraparaumu

Permanent 32 hours per week
Cook Assistant: Thursday & Friday 7am-3.30pm
Weekend Cook: Saturday & Sunday 8.30am-5pm

We are looking for a reliable, energetic cook with a friendly, can-do attitude to join our kitchen team at Coastal Villas Retirement Village, in the heart of the Kapiti Coast. Help us deliver exceptional food service and make a real difference in the lives of our residents!

Weekend Cook Role
As a Cook, you will:
• Prepare and serve meals while considering dietary requirements and allergies
• Work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays
• Take responsibility for your section and work sole charge when required
• Demonstrate excellent time management and teamwork
• Bring a friendly, engaging attitude to brighten residents’ days

Cook Assistant Role
As a Cook Assistant, you will:
• Support the chef with meal preparation and service for 75 residents
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free kitchen environment
• Deliver meals to villa residents and assist in the café
• Help out with dishes, rubbish removal, and general kitchen cleaning

What we’re looking for
• Ability to work safely in a busy, industrial kitchen
• Flexible, committed, and team-oriented attitude
• Resilient under pressure and willing to assist with functions or on-call cover shifts
• Previous kitchen experience preferred, but full training is provided for motivated individuals
