Operations Support Team Opportunities - Casual Chef & Catering Assistant, Wellington Region

Cater Plus is building a dedicated Operations Support Team to provide flexible cover and operational support across our café, catering, and hospitality sites throughout the Wellington region. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable people to join us in one of two casual roles: Chef or Catering Assistant.

These roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, thrive in different environments, and take pride in delivering exceptional food and customer service experiences. As part of the Operations Support Team, you'll provide cover for planned leave, training, and additional operational requirements across multiple sites. No two days are the same.

Casual Catering Assistant
We're looking for a reliable and customer-focused Catering Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Experience in café service is highly regarded, and barista skills would be an advantage.

You'll bring:
• Experience in hospitality, catering, food service, or customer service
• Confidence assisting with food preparation, service, and kitchen support duties
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional, friendly manner
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working across different sites and teams
• High standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation
• Reliability and availability to work at short notice when required

Casual Chef
We're also seeking an experienced Chef who enjoys variety and can confidently step into different kitchen environments while maintaining high standards.

You'll bring:
• At least 3 years' experience in a commercial hospitality or catering environment
• Strong food preparation, cooking, and presentation skills
• Experience catering for diverse dietary requirements
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand food safety standards
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
• A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work

What You'll Need
For both roles, you will require:
• A current full New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transport
• The ability to travel throughout the Wellington region
• Successful police vetting
• The legal right to work in New Zealand
