About the Role
Based at Wakefield Hospital in Wellington, this role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic kitchen environment where we prepare top-quality meals for patients and offer café-style options for staff and visitors. This role is 24 hours per week (Thursday – Saturday, 10am – 6.30pm), allowing you to balance work with life’s other commitments.

As part of the Cater Plus team, you’ll report to the Food Services Manager and collaborate with a dedicated crew to deliver high standards across all aspects of food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve a-la-carte, restaurant quality meals for patients.
• Cater to a variety of dietary requirements and allergies within a hospital facility.
• Maintain food quality throughout preparation and presentation.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and hazard-free kitchen environment.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
• Be friendly, engaging and know what it means to deliver outstanding customer service.

What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the food industry.
• Ability to work independently and supervise staff when required.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Passion for high-quality food and outstanding service.
• A team player with a positive attitude.
