Site Manager - Elizabeth Knox Kitchen (Epsom), Auckland

• Full-time 40 hours per week, 9am to 5:30pm over 7-day roster

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for an experienced Site Manager to lead the kitchen operation at Elizabeth Knox Home & Hospital in Epsom. Lead One of Our Largest Aged Care Kitchen Operations.

This key leadership role is ideal for a skilled Chef Manager with a passion for food, people leadership, and service excellence. You will be responsible for overseeing a large kitchen team, maintaining exceptional food quality standards, and building strong relationships with our client to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction.

The kitchen provides nutritious, high-quality meals for up to 260 residents daily, making this one of our largest and most rewarding sites.

About the Role:
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a large and diverse kitchen team
• Building and maintaining positive client relationships
• Planning and developing menus that cater to varied dietary and nutritional requirements
• Overseeing the preparation, cooking, and service of wholesome, high-quality meals
• Monitoring food quality and presentation throughout all stages of production
• Ensuring compliance with New Zealand food safety standards, food control plans, and health and safety requirements
• Managing food and labour costs while delivering services within budget
• Ordering supplies and maintaining effective stock control procedures
• Driving continuous improvement in product quality, service delivery, and operational performance
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
• Providing hands-on leadership and operational support when required

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Proven experience in a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Site Manager, or similar leadership position
• Strong culinary knowledge and relevant hospitality industry experience
• Experience leading and motivating large teams
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A flexible, hands-on, and positive approach to leadership
• Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements within the aged care or healthcare sector – exposure to Safe Food Pro is desirable.
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Moderate to strong computer literacy
• A genuine passion for delivering great food and exceptional service
• The ability to remain calm, organised, and solutions-focused in a busy environment
