Site Manager – Golden Bay Cement, Portland
Full time: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday 6.00am to 2.30pm)

Our mission is to create food that is tasty, wholesome and downright delicious. This is where you come in. We are looking for a Site Manager who can delight our customers with scrumptious food and keep them coming back for more.
In this kitchen you will have the support of a catering assistant to assist with producing the best food service in the industry. You will bring the best out in them as you encourage and lead them to get the job done well and challenge them to improve.
You will lead the morning shifts that run from 6:00am – 2:30pm, preparing breakfast for customers in addition to creating items for the cabinets. You will need to be able to take initiative, problem solve, and have an understanding of food quantities and dietary requirements. As this is a two-person team, there will be times when you need to serve customers and operate the Eftpos and POS machine with a smile.
This role is hands-on and you will be actively involved in not only the creating, cooking and presenting of meals but also the day-to-day running of the café. Being a Site Manager position, you will need an understanding of managing labour costs within a budget, health and safety requirements and managing staff. This is a role where your time management skills and ability to multitask will come into play to keep the café running like clockwork.
This position requires a Chef Manager with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, who can:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine
• Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements
• Manage food and labour costs within budget
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
• Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.
• Demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy
• Show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude
