Weekend Afternoon Catering Assistant - Shalom Rest Home, Northland

Hours of Work
• Saturday: 2:00pm - 6:30pm and Sunday: 2:00pm - 6:30pm
• Minimum 9 hours per weekend, with the potential for additional hours.

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Weekend Afternoon Catering Assistant to join our catering team and help provide an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.

Shalom Rest Home is a well-established aged care facility in Northland, providing a welcoming, supportive, and caring environment for our residents. As a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the nutritional wellbeing of our residents while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. You will work closely with the Catering Manager and wider care team to ensure meals are presented and served to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with basic food preparation and meal presentation.
• Prepare, serve, and deliver meals to residents.
• Collect and clear dishes following meal services.
• Wash dishes and maintain high cleaning standards throughout the kitchen.
• Remove rubbish and keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Replenish kitchen and dining room supplies as required.
• Support the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining service.
• Follow food safety, infection control, and health and safety procedures.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and professional service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Assist in creating a positive dining experience that enhances residents' wellbeing and quality of life.

• Previous catering, food service, or aged care experience is advantageous but not essential.
