Weekend Cook/Catering Assistant – Fonterra Hautapu
Saturdays and Sundays – 7:00am – 1:30pm, 14 hours per week
We are seeking a hands-on Cook/Catering Assistant to join our vibrant café team at Fonterra Hautapu, located in the heart of the Waikato. This role is perfect for someone who loves creating, cooking, and presenting delicious, wholesome meals, while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of a busy café.
Think of crafting tasty, satisfying meals that our customers can enjoy in a short break between shifts.
Understanding what our customers crave and delivering it with consistency and flair will set you up for success in this role. The right person will also be flexible and confident, ready to step in to cover the Site Manager from time to time.
What You’ll Do:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine, from hearty breakfast options to café-style lunches
• Ensure quality and consistency at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Implement and maintain compliance with New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and hazard-free kitchen and café environment
• Serve beautifully crafted meals and drinks with flair and professionalism
• Make stunning coffees that brighten our customers’ day
• Operate Eftpos and POS systems accurately and with a friendly attitude
• Communicate effectively with your team and demonstrate moderate computer literacy
• Display a flexible, can-do attitude, being ready to step up where needed
