Cater Plus acquired by ISS, marking new chapter ahead of 20-year milestone.

New Zealand food service company Cater Plus has been acquired by ISS, a global workplace experience and facility services provider with a strong presence across the Pacific.

As Cater Plus approaches its 20-year milestone, the acquisition represents a strategic step to support the business’s long-term growth, while maintaining its strong culture, values, and commitment to quality food and service. Founded in 2006, Cater Plus has grown from a small, family-run operation into a trusted catering partner across healthcare, aged care, education and corporate environments. The company now operates in more than 100 locations throughout New Zealand, supported by a strong national team.

Founder Paul Hodge said the decision was made with the future of the business and its people firmly in mind. “As we approach 20 years, this felt like the right time to reflect on what we have built and what the next chapter could look like,” said Hodge. “ISS shares our values and our people-first approach, and they bring the scale, resources, and experience to support Cater Plus as it continues to grow.”

ISS’s acquisition provides Cater Plus with access to broader capability, systems, and development opportunities, including potential career pathways across the Pacific, while allowing the business to continue operating with the same local focus and customer commitment.

There will be no immediate changes to Cater Plus operations, services, or day-to-day roles as a result of the acquisition. The Cater Plus brand, team, and customer relationships will remain central to the business. Paul Hodge will remain actively involved during the transition period to ensure continuity and a smooth integration. Both organisations are committed to maintaining service excellence and supporting Cater Plus teams, clients, and communities as the business enters its next phase.
