Merry Christmas
Happy holidays! What a wonderful year it’s been here at Cater Plus. We have welcomed many new faces to the company, many new sites to our portfolio, and have continued to provide a fantastic food service to our customers and clients.
We have achieved a number of goals this year, one of which was the implementation of the Food Control Plan under the Food Act 2014. We were already 90% compliant with requirements under the Food Control Plan and it has been a great learning exercise for our managers and staff. Our Health and Safety program has moved ahead leaps and bounds. We have provided each staff member with a set of safety shoes to minimise the risk of slips, trips and falls and have also invested in knife sets for each site with knife training for all staff in food preparation.
The Cater Plus training program has come to life this year. With the support of Service IQ we have implemented a number of training programs to suit the needs of each staff member, from Catering Certificates and Business Certificates to Diplomas. We have had a number of applicants for our Apprenticeship scheme, and have welcomed apprentice Jacob Waghorn into the program. With five workplace assessors in our team we have the opportunity to upskill and give back to the Cater Plus team and we have received great interest and feedback.
We have had a busy lead up to Christmas with some exciting functions at our sites. We have created festive Christmas Platters for our residents and staff at Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital, a canapé and beer matching afternoon at DB breweries featuring Ceviche, Thai Beef Salad, Antipasto Platters and much more. The food was out of this world at Mount Albert Grammar School’s teacher’s end of year function. A local is lekker South African Day at Refining NZ as well as a traditional Indian day at Fliways. With a Fairy Tale themed function at Plant and Food Research as well as many more coming up our team are showcasing their talent and flexibility in meeting the expansive needs of each customer and providing amazing food.
We hope you have a safe and happy holiday and enjoy the festivities of Christmas and New Year.
