Solar Powering the Cater Plus Auckland Support Office

With sustainability on the forefront of Cater Plus’s operations, we have taken an exciting step in our contribution to the environment by installing solar power into our Auckland Support Office.
With two solar systems installed, Cater Plus are working to reduce our carbon footprint by using solar as an energy resource. Our office at Greenmount Drive, East Tamaki, utilises Panasonic panels running on a Tesla inverter system. This means we can use the power generated in the office and send excess back to the grid to contribute to New Zealand’s electricity needs.

Auckland receives approximately 2050 sunshine hours each year, making it a great place to install solar technology. It produces no greenhouse gas emissions and is a renewable energy resource meaning long-term benefits to both the business and the environment. Lower operational costs is an additional benefit of solar power, with savings redirected into further sustainability projects.
In the first two months with Solar panels installed Cater Plus have produced 4.81 MWh of Solar power and have made CO2 savings of 505 kg which is equivalent to a car ride of 3,368 km or planting 13 trees.

There is always more to do when it comes to taking care of our planet, and we are excited in taking this positive step in our sustainability journey to preserve New Zealand’s natural resources.
