Café Cook/Chef – Fonterra Research and Development Centre, Palmerston North

Full Time, Monday – Friday

Are you an experienced cook and passionate foodie looking for your next challenge in a role that offers true work-life balance? Cater Plus is on the hunt for that special someone to join our close knit team serving the staff on site at Fonterra Research and Development Centre in Palmerston North.

To be successful in this role you will be warm and engaging with a can-do attitude and friendly nature. You will join a team dedicated to preparing and serving outstanding café style food and coffee for our customers and keep them coming back for more. With the bonus of weekends and public holidays off and no early mornings or late nights, you will have plenty of opportunity to create that ideal work/life balance.

Supporting the Chef Manager, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst remaining cool and calm. To be successful, you will need to:
- have experience in a similar café environment offering tasty and tempting hot and cold cabinet options
- be able to cater for varied dietary requirements
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Implement NZ Food Control and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
- be able to problem solve, multitask, and work under pressure
- be a reliable and flexible team player with the ability to take responsibility for overseeing the café in the manager’s absence
