Cafe/Chef Manager - Fonterra, Edgecumbe
We are seeking a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of food, as well as the day-to-day running of our café based at Fonterra Edgecumbe. Think tasty, wholesome meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts. An understanding of what the customers crave will have you well on the road to success here.
This position requires a chef with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience, who can:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine
• Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements
• Manage food and labour costs within budget
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
• Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
• Demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy
• Show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude.
Reporting to an operations manager, you will normally work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.30am – 3pm, and with the support of three catering assistants, ensure the smooth running of the café across its 7-day operation, including evening and weekend shifts.
