Head Chef, Industrial Cafeteria

• Full Time (Monday to Friday 5.30am – 2pm)
• Weekends and public holidays off
• No late nights

Come and lead our café team, catering for the staff working on this large industrial site and fulfilling a busy function calendar.

In this role you will be a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of all food, as well as the day-to-day running of the cafeteria. There is huge potential for you to work closely with our new Catering Services Manager, wow our client, make our customers smile, and take the café to the next level of success.

This position is Monday to Friday (5.30am – 2pm) with weekends and evenings free to enjoy with friends and family. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst remaining cool and calm.

This position requires a chef with relevant industry experience, who can:
• Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine (both café and buffet style)
• Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements
• Manage food and labour costs within budget
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff
• Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
• Provide customer service when required as there is a period working sole charge
• Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment.

The ideal candidate will:
• Have excellent communication skills and a flexible, can-do, committed attitude
• Be friendly and engaging, with the ability to lead a productive and positive team
• Have good time management skills, and moderate computer literacy.
