Site Manager - Mt Albert Grammar School, Boarding House Kitchen, Auckland

A rare vacancy has arrived for a talented Chef Manager to join Cater Plus and the family at Mt Albert Grammar School. In this multifaced role you will firstly oversee the management of Boarding School House including cleaning and laundry. With over 100 students our aim is to provide a home away from home that supports a strong and healthy wellbeing. Here we work closely with our client to make sure this vision is achieved.

While managing the boarding house, you are also an integral part of the school function team. This is your creative space, a zone for producing mesmerizing function food for top school and public events. A dream space for the ultimate foodie who loves to inspire through food.

Enjoy the hands-on nature of this role, from designing student friendly menus to actively preparing and cooking the food. You will work alongside your team, bringing out the best in them as you encourage and lead to get the job done well, challenge them to improve, value and support each other. In this role you will be responsible for 4 staff members.

Being a salary position reporting to an Operations manager, this role promotes work life balance providing a minimum of 40hours predominately Monday to Friday 10.00am to 7:00pm.

This position requires a chef with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience, who can:

Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
Deliver a high volume of healthy and nutritious meals daily,
Design menu’s that are student friendly or relatable to the function brief
Portray an extensive knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to implement NZ food control and safety regulations
Inspire, train and manage a team of catering assistants and chefs,
Demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy
Show an energetic manner and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and so the hard yards.
