Chef/Cafe Manager - Autex, Auckland

We are seeking an innovative, trendy and full of energy Café Manager, ready to take charge of a new site for Cater Plus, located at Autex in Avondale, Auckland. Autex is a New Zealand based manufacturing and product development company specialising in textiles and advanced fibre technology. This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday (5:30am-1:30pm).

You will be a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of all food, as well as the day-to-day running of the Café. As this is a solo charge site, you will also be running the front of house service and fully responsible for making our customers smile and keeping them coming back for more. Our clientele at this site appreciate high quality food so you will need experience in cooking a variety of cuisine including preparing and cooking vegan meals.

This position requires a chef with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience, who can:
- Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of cuisine
- Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements
- Manage food and labour costs within budget
- Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
- Demonstrate great communication skills and moderate computer literacy
- Show a flexible, can-do, committed attitude
